Lawn Mower Coop
For over 20 years several of us haven't owned a lawn mower. After paying the initial fee of $30 to join, we kick in $15/year each for gas, maintenance, repairs and replacement costs. We get the mower from the tool co-op whenever we need to use it. Two weed whips are included with the mower as well. We have 6 families sharing the mower during any one season and rarely find it missing when we need it. When the mower dies and it can no longer be reasonably repaired we have plenty of money in the pooled fund to purchase a new one.
