9 Acres Parcel

At the end of last year (2004) a 9 acre parcel of land adjacent to Stelle was offered for sale to Center for Sustainable Community (CSC) by The Stelle Group (the founding organization of Stelle).  It included the community garden area, the wildlife pond, a creek and the 2 acre orchard which held an old greenhouse and storage building.

The selling price was very reasonable ($20,000 plus closing costs) but regardless, we did not have the funds to purchase it.  So, we put out a call to our email list and fellow community residents for donations and received $21,731.  We closed on the property in August of this year and intend to use this land to demonstrate sustainable agricultural models that can be used for educational purposes for decades to come.
