        The Monday Night Dinner Co-op

Monday Night Dinner Co-op

The Monday Night Dinner Co-op grew out of a desire for some of us to share a regularly scheduled meal. We enjoy the opportunity to visit with community members over dinner – and it frees time otherwise spent in meal preparation. The number of participants may vary, and there's usually a blend of families, singles and couples. It is easy to participate - the menu is posted ahead of time, and there's always a vegetarian option. Everyone signs up so the cook knows how much food to prepare (and we always plan on a couple of drop-ins). Each person pays $1.50 per person for the meal and reciprocity is a must for regular attendance. All the adults take turns cooking, and everyone does their own dishes. Each person/family usually cooks once every 7-10 weeks, and the rest of the time gets to show up for a home cooked meal, and great conversation. What a deal!

Note that as of November 2007, the Dinner Co-op is operating on a trial basis as a weekly potluck event.
