2005 Permaculture Workshops
Logistics & Registration
Overview
Our weekend workshops are meant to explore more deeply the fundamentals of permaculture than would be possible in an introductory class. We intend for these workshops to increase a student's ability to bring production, profitability and preservation to the land, to animals, to people, and to themselves. Students will be exposed to a variety of instructors and the kind of experiential detail that one can only get from seasoned permaculturists. Each of our workshops is unique to a specific area of permaculture, and the time spent participating in one, or all three, promises to be exciting, fun, informative and beneficial. CSC offers these workshops within the context of the sustainably oriented community of Stelle.
Preparation for the Weekend
Before taking any of the workshops we recommend to students to read Bill Mollison's: Introduction to Permaculture, Toby Hemenway's: Gaia's Garden or already posses general knowledge of permaculture. Thus prepared, you are likely to get much more out of your workshop(s). Both books are available on the internet or directly from us.

Recreational vehicles and campers may be sited near the campsites. For the ‘camping impaired' other options are available, ranging from a spare couch to a room in our local bed and breakfast. Prices will vary depending on accommodations. Contact us for these options as space is limited and on a first come, first served, basis.
About Stelle
Stelle is a town of 44 households, consisting of about 100 folks of all ages. Because of a genuine interest in moving towards more sustainable ways of living, small groups of individuals within the community have taken their interests and explored them to the benefit of all. Our interests have fallen into three broad categories: green technology, sustainable agriculture (mostly gardening & permaculture), and alternative approaches to living more authentic lives - including such areas as health, education, right livelihood, and spiritual fulfillment. Click here if you would like to visit the community website.
Price for the Workshops
The price of the workshops is $275 each if you register 10 days before the start date of each weekend. Late registration is $325. Want to take two, or all three workshops? There is a $50 discount for your second and third registration which puts the price at $225 each. There is a 50% discount for a second family member ($137.50) or $412.50 for the two of you (there are no further discounts for subsequent workshops).
Please Note: The maximum number of students we can accommodate for each weekend is 30. Thanks. The price of the workshop includes all instruction and handouts, camping space, all meals (prepared with organic & locally produced foods), use of the community swimming pool and pool house (with hot tub & steam shower), and access to our community gardens, orchard & pond.
