The Essence of Sustainable Community
With Guest Speaker Penny Kelly
Sunday July 13
1:30 - 4:30 with optional lunch beforehand
We are delighted to invite you to a special talk and discussion on the necessity for and advantages of creating truly sustainable community.
As an educational organization CSC is committed to study, implement and teach the principles of sustainability, with special focus at the community level. Our goal is to integrate the best ideas available to create a living environment that meets all of our physical needs in a sustainable manner, while maturing our vision of a society that honors each member on a personal basis. The concepts of sustainability and community go hand in hand to ensure the well-being of all participants.
Leading our discussion for this event is author Penny Kelly. Penny, an expert on community based sustainability, has written 5 books on sustainable-related topics. Penny will talk for an hour or so, then will open the floor for questions and answers, followed by a round-table discussion about what it means to have “sustainability” and “community.” This program follows our CSC annual meeting at 10am.
Sustainability is more than raising organic food and stockpiling it. We need each other as fellow participants in community as well, if we are to achieve the desired level of well-being and happiness. This is a program you won’t want to miss!
