How safe are the products you use? From the food you eat, to the house you live in you are exposed to hundreds of chemicals everyday. Many are harmless but some are toxic. We will take a look at some of the most worrisome toxins while focusing on non-toxic alternatives for personal care and household cleaning. A list of resources for further study will be provided.

Kasandra Ireland

Presented by Kasandra Ireland.
Kasandra Ireland was disabled in the fall of 2002 with multiple allergies and chemical sensitivities. In an effort to rid her home of the offending substances she began researching environmental pollutants and what she found both astonished and alarmed her. Having mostly regained her health, she now works part time from home as an email administrator, spends as much time as she can gardening and recently received a certificate in Permaculture Design. She enjoys sharing with others what she’s learned and how she recovered her health. Kasandra currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Center for Sustainable Community (CSC) and is Coordinator of the CSC Garden Co-op.

Kasandra’s other interests include Tang Soo Do Karate, history, and sustainable development. She lives with her husband and daughter in Stelle, IL
