“Our food should be our medicine.
Our medicine should be our food.”
Hippocrates
Herbs and medicinal plants are steeped in rich tradition and history. Plants provide main sources of our food and medicine. Many are high in nutritional and pharmacological properties. Herbs encourage and activate the body’s own healing mechanisms. The practice of herbalism empowers us with sustainability, self-reliance and confidence.
This comprehensive one-day workshop will acquaint participants with the many healing properties and practical uses of medicinal plants.
Topics include:
-
How herbs cleanse, nourish, regulate, and energize body systems.
-
Herbal types, properties and characteristics.
-
Demonstrations of how to prepare a wide range of internal and external applications.
-
Formulary and blending of herbs.
-
Therapeutic benefits of culinary herbs.
